“Early Years Are Learning Years”

This was the theme of this year’s Indiana Early Childhood Conference.  Five teachers/aides attended the conference in Indianapolis in April and here are a few things we brought back with us:

*How we develop relationships with families and each other and the community makes all the difference!

*Find a families’ strengths instead of judging too quickly.

*Family success=child success.

* An excellent teacher makes all families feel welcome.

(Keynote Address by Luis Hernandez)

*The house of higher learning is supported by a foundation of PLAY!

 * Seven things we must do with children every day:

-Create -Move

-Sing -Discuss

-Observe -Read

-Play

As a staff, we definitely value being able to attend this conference each year, so that we can continue to develop and grow in knowledge within the early childhood field.  We have an awesome task that is set before us each year as we welcome our students: To prepare them for Kindergarten.  It’s SO much more than knowing their ABC’s!  I am so thankful we have staff that are dedicated to being guides for each child that comes to us.  We are also always thankful for those that support us through prayer, by volunteering their time and offering financial assistance to families that cannot afford it.

Thank you for supporting our preschool!
