Nursery Help Needed

We are experiencing a shortage of volunteers in our Nursery department. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Pastor Rick. We found the following article helpful in letting us know the different types of people that can be Nursery workers.

Library News

Three new books that have recently appeared in your WLFMC library widen
one’s horizons in unique ways.  Face Down, written by Aletha Smithson tells
the true story of an unbelievably damaged child who was abused and
mistreated resulting in a very dysfunctional life as he struck out at any
efforts of others to help him get his bearings.  He had many ups and downs,
including serving time in prisons more than once, but today he is working
with teens and young adults at a ministry in Ft. Wayne.  (He formerly worked
at the local Staples store and donated this book to the library.)  On the
opposite end of life’s spectrum is a book written by former Winona Lake
resident, Bob Haslam, entitled PK.  Bob recounts the experiences of a
preacher’s kid coming of age during the Great Depression and World War II.
Living in the Pacific Northwest where Japanese attacks were expected after
Pearl Harbor, Bob gives you facts that were kept secret during World War II
and are largely unknown by contemporary Americans.  The third book, Paper
Angels, a work of fiction, is written by Jimmy Wayne with Travis Thrasher.
It is an inspirational story focusing on a business owner whose firm crashed
and the changes that developed in his life as he followed his wife’s urging
and chose a Salvation Army angel at Christmas.  The resulting interaction
between him and the child whose name he chose demonstrates the true spirit
of Christmas, which can be part of life all year long.  Happy Reading!
